Jussara Silveira has released Brasilin, her new album that combines Brazilian and Cape Verdean music. The singer dedicated herself to learning Cape Verdean Creole and had the support of local groups to interpret the songs authentically. The work was produced by Alê Siqueira and includes tracks such as Coragem Irmon and Mãe que Eu Nasci. Jussara is currently performing the album's repertoire in Salvador.

Brazilian singer Jussara Silveira has released her latest album, Brasilin , the thirteenth of her career, distributed by the Biscoito Fino label. This project marks a special moment in the artist's career by including songs from the musical repertoire of Cape Verde, fulfilling an old promise to record music from the African archipelago.
Produced by Alê Siqueira, Brasilin presents a hybrid repertoire, alternating nine Brazilian and Cape Verdean tracks. Among the songs on the album, the highlights are Coragem Irmon , by Toy Vieira, and Mãe que Eu Nasci , Carlinhos Brown's Portuguese version of Direito di Nasce , by Cape Verdean composer Manuel de Jesus Lopes.
Jussara revealed that the process of learning Cape Verdean Creole occurred through attentive listening and repetition of songs by great names such as Cesária Évora, Tito Paris and Ildo Lobo. In addition, she had the support of Cape Verdean groups to improve her interpretation, consolidating her connection with the language and local culture. The singer's clear and precise voice was an essential factor in the authenticity of the work.
The album also includes Pavão Mysteriozo , by Ednardo, a choice that, according to the artist, may seem out of place, but which was a personal necessity. During the pandemic, the song remained alive in her mind as a reflection on the countless losses and challenges faced during this period.
Currently, Jussara Silveira is presenting Brasilin 's repertoire in shows at Casa da Mãe, located in Rio Vermelho, Salvador. Her next show is scheduled for February 20th.
